WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis are fast, safe and powerful therapeutic tools to help you make permanent changes to the way you feel, act and think.

What is it like to be hypnotized?

When you visit Rose you will immediately feel at ease. Her clients agree that she is fun loving, kind and terrific at helping them reach their goals.  A session with Rose includes a thorough interview and then as you relax you take on beneficial ideas from your own knowledge and from your personal hypnotist.  The hypnotic experience is very rewarding and everyone says it’s very relaxing  – like having an hour’s massage. The experience differs from person to person.  But what we do know is it allows you to renew and regenerate your mind, body and soul.

Hypnotherapy is a relaxed, focused and heightened state of awareness that enables your conscious and unconscious mind to better communicate with each other. In hypnosis you experience a trance-like state that is similar to daydreaming or light sleep  – so,  if you daydream or ‘zone-out’ you can be hypnotised.

The mind works on two levels, the conscious and the subconscious.

The part of our mind that we can easily access is called the conscious mind.  It is the rational, logical part of our mind and uses up to 10% of our mind’s capacity.

The unconscious mind (subconscious) not only takes care of your breathing, your heartbeat, and the temperature of your body but it stores all of your learned behaviours, belief systems, memories, habits, and learned responses to circumstances we come across in life and has been doing so since birth. Our subconscious mind may be flooded with distressing emotions like anxiety and depressions or it could be creating pain or dis-ease in our body.

And it’s your subconscious mind that places mental obstacles (sabotage) in the way of this conscious desires.  It will do everything to keep you safe and to stop you from experiencing hurt.  That is why you find yourself failing in your efforts to quit smoking or drop weight, no matter how hard you try. If dieting and stop smoking means “you’ll feel pain” than you can bet no matter what you try or how hard – you will not succeed if your subconscious mind has anything to do with it.

It is common knowledge that we only use about 10% of our ability of the mind.   Under hypnosis, we open the channels for easy communication between your conscious mind (10%)  and subconscious mind (90%) in order to effectively, once and for all, remove those mental obstacles and affirm that it is time to become a healthy and confident person. We achieve this by relaxing the body so the conscious mind can step aside and allow the hypnotherapist to communicate with the subconscious mind through a series of suggestions.  These suggestions help to reprogram the subconscious mind.

You allow yourself to be hypnotised – I cannot make you do it! When you visit us at Ipswich City Hypnosis you can be sure, you are always in control and will normally remember everything that happens during the session although it may feel a little like a dream. Hypnosis is totally safe and a natural process.

 

Can I be hypnotised?

Yes, you can! Everyone, given the right conditions, easily enters hypnosis because it is a very natural state of being.

How Many Visits Do I  need?

This varies because all clients are different.  The average is 3 – 4 sessions over a period of 4 – 6 weeks.

Stop smoking sessions lasts 1.5 hours – one session only.

Homework 

Homework is the essential component of any therapy and this will help you achieve your goals and minimise the number of sessions that you may need.
You will be given a CD recording to reinforce our session together – please play it as directed by Rose.

Health Rebates

There is no Medicare rebate for hypnotherapy services however some private health funds cover hypnotherapy.  Rose is a recognised health fund provider and registered under ATMS.
